Spring in Lancaster County
When it comes to spring, nowhere does it like Lancaster County. Its the beginning of the growing season and it's clear and evident througout the farmland. I find myself exploring this time of year; yes I have all ready been to the nursery checking out the pansies. Lots of bright colors ready to shine through the winter doldrums.
Here in New Holland we are lucky to have about 6 different places to purchase all kinds of goodies for the garden. Flowers, herbs and vegetables are ready for the planting. They have all ready planted things like lettuce, scallions and other greens which have all ready made an appearance at Lancaster Central Market. This early crop of leafy goodness is the harbinger of things to come.
The Harvest Moon has three spring time events planned with an Easter Sunday Brunch, a discovery of all these nurseries to purchase plants and a strawberry picking day with cooking demo afterwards. Our spring time packages can be found on our culinary page.
