Lodging for Case New Holland Plant Tours
Spring here in New Holland has certainly arrived in all it's glory. With that being said, I'm reminded each year that New Holland is quite the destination for agricultural industry. With Tyson Chicken, Avandanced Food Products and Case New Holland in our community, it truly is a farming community. With that being said, Case New Holland's history dates back to 1895 with the opening of a two-man machinery repair shop with Master machinist Abe Zimmerman.
Abe Zimmerman being quite the developer began playing with the idea of a "freeze-proof" engine. In 1903, the New Holland Machine Company was born and Abe himself was CEO selling five different models of his freeze proof stationary engine. Five models were developed and he began selling them in the early 1900's with the most popular being that of a 5 HP engine.
The Harvest Moon B&B being only a two minute drive can arrange factory tours for those interested, (and by the way, we offer an awesome breakfast, much more than a bagel and a banana). The plant offers tours on Tuesday's and Thursdays at 1pm. Here you will recieve first hand information on what they are producing today in terms of farming equipment, from Hay balers to pull type foragae harvesters.
