5 Best Lancaster County Mud Sales for 2019
It's that time of year. Mud Sale Season. That's right so get your boots and be ready! The locals like to go and look for the perfect tool, quilt, desk, book, buggy, lamp and just about anything one can sell. This list below is just a small one of the ones I find most enjoyable. Remember, just because it might be a more recognized name, does not mean that it is the best. I like to dig a little deeper and immerse myself into the country-side. Join me in celebrating all that Lancaster County is. You won't be sorry! Remember that most of the Fire Companies in Lancaster County are volunteer. These sales are often times what sustains the fire companies in our small communities and your support is always greatly appreciated!

5 Best Lancaster County Mud Sales for 2019
1. Farmersville Fire Company –
Not too far just behind The Harvest Moon Bed & Breakfast is what people come here to see but rarely find. The Farmersville Fire Company is the perfect place to begin your Mud Sale Season. This place is deep in the Amish/Mennonite countryside. As a matter of fact one can see street signs written in both English and Pennsylvania Dutch not too far from the Fire Hall. Be sure to bring your check book or cash, they do not accept credit cards. The date is set for Friday March 22 later in the afternoon beginning at 3pm
2. Gap Fire Company –
If one is not enough for you during the weekend of March 22-23, 2019, then why not go to two of them? One can not come to Lancaster County during Mud Season and not go to the Gap Mud Sale. This two day event is really an immersion into Lancaster County. On the eastern side of Lancaster County, one will find all the traps of a Lancaster County "Dutchy" experience. From hand crafted goods (quilts) to wonderful home cooked food. Food? yes, most of the stuff you will find her you will only find in Lancaster.
3. Fivepointville Fire Company –
Truly a Lancaster County dot on the map. Fivepointville is tiny, but don't let that fool you. This mud sale scheduled for May 4th, 2019 is just a short 20 minute drive from the Harvest Moon B&B. Being in the beginning of May, one can enjoy warmer weather and beautiful spring days. Flowers are full on out at this point and the area is feeling the buzz of summer coming. This sale with its traditional Amish Quilts and hade made goods including swing sets and furniture is not far from the famous Weavers Store, an old fashioned Mennonite Department Store. You will fall in love!
4. Bird-In-Hand Fire Company –
Although I prefaced this posting with a shout out to smaller mud sales, here's a shout out to one of the biggest. If you want to hob knob with the locals, this is the place to do so. You see, Lancaster County has so many opportunities to immerse yourself into the local allure. This event scheduled for June 27-28, 2019 is a great way to not only "visit" but also a great way to see some beautiful craftsmanship. Along with all the things one would typically see, you will also find a great display of antiques. Of course the food is local, home made, PA Dutch and all that it really is cracked up to be. Don't forget your Whoppie Pie!
5. Intercourse Fire Company –
Last but certainly not least is the Intercourse Sale on August 16-17. This sale is sure to make a hit and has all the great things one would expect from a wonderful end of season sale. While here, be sure to go to all the places in this small town including Kitchen Kettle Village, Waltz Vineyards and Intercourse Canning.
