Look out Des Moines, Iowa…Lancaster, Pennsylvania is hot on your heels! The inaugural Lancaster quilt show sponsored by the American Quilters Society will be upon us in late March at the new Lancaster County Convention Center.

The dates for the AQS quilt show are March 16-19 2011. The Harvest Moon Bed and Breakfast in Lancaster County has put together a list of specials and packages for just about everyone. So whether you are here for a day or a week, this list proves to be a starting point as you prepare for your time away at the great quilter’s conference. Happy Quilting!

Quilters "Hole in the Barn Door" Package

This Quilt Retreat package allows for every quilter to enjoy a bit of the local country side in search of all things quilts. The locals have made Lancaster a haven for the art of quilting, and you can enjoy the best of what they have to offer here at the Harvest Moon Bed and Breakfast.

This package includes a list of local "off-the-beaten-track" quilters that have mastered their art. The hunt for the unique quilt shop has been done for you. Enjoy small one-of-a-kind shops that have all kinds of quilting material at great prices. From swatches to remnants and everything in between, these places have just the right materials for the quilter in everyone.

Also included in this package is a dinner at Shady Maple. While the Pennsylvania Dutch cooking is one of the best in the area, the gift shop is filled with the locals' quilting masterpieces.

Quilters "Wild Goose Chase" Package*

This Quilting Tours package offers just a little bit more for the quilter. For those interested in learning the secrets of the locals as they do there quilting, come and watch a demo with some of our local quilters and see the history and colorful past of quilting.

This package allows for tickets to the Lancaster Quilt and Textile Museum. This one-of-a-kind place shines a light to the past of the people who once created this form of art. Also included in this package is a demo on how the locals prepare the quilts in our area. Learn certain stitching techniques and discuss with the pros the “how-to” on what they do.

This package also includes dinner at Shady Maple and a list of one-of-a-kind local quilt shops.

Quilters "Aunt Dinah’s Star" package

This is for the quilter who has just a little more time in the area to enjoy the many things that Lancaster has to offer. Guests will enjoy not only time away at the many quilt / textile shops in the area and demos with the local quilters, but they will also receive tickets to one of the shows currently showing at one of our Theaters. 

Guests who make a vacation out of their Lancaster Experience will enjoy this “Stay, Dine, Learn, and Play” package when visiting the Harvest Moon Bed and Breakfast. Along with tickets to the Quilt and Textile Museum, demo with the local quilters and dinner at Shady Maple, one can enjoy one of the shows at either Sight and Sound , American Music Theater or The Rainbow Dinner Theater .
